Companies using or developing AI should know that, on May 21, 2019, the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) Council adopted The Recommendation on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Recommendation on AI is an intergovernmental standard aiming to foster innovation and trust in AI, while ensuring respect for human rights and democratic values. The Recommendation complements existing OECD standards in areas such as privacy, digital security risk management, and responsible business conduct. The Recommendation sets a standard that is flexible to withstand rapidly evolving technology. May was a busy month of presentations about the landscape of data privacy and tips on how to mitigate cyber liability. Lisa Angelo shared valuable information, and a few laughs with her audiences at the Texas Trial Lawyers' Association's monthly meeting, the Montgomery County Bar's Law Day, the CyberSecurity Collaboration Forum, and (ISC)^2 Central Florida's Chapter meeting. Here are a few highlights from the fun had during the speaking engagements. Houston, Texas – June 5, 2018 – Lisa M. Privacy professionals are the arbiters of trust in today’s data-driven global economy. They help organizations manage rapidly evolving privacy threats and mitigate the potential loss and misuse of information assets. The IAPP is the first organization to publicly establish standards in professional education and testing for privacy and data protection. IAPP privacy certification is internationally recognized as a reputable, independent program that professionals seek and employers demand. The CIPM demonstrates an understanding of privacy program governance and the skills necessary to establish, maintain and manage a privacy program across all stages of its operational life cycle. It is the first and only certification in privacy program management, developed in response to overwhelming demand to collect and collate common practices for managing privacy operations. Lisa joins the ranks of more than 10,000 professionals worldwide who currently hold one or more IAPP certifications. About the IAPP The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource.
